Copyright
This section contain some copyright information, such as how to protect your own copyrighted works and avoid infringing on the copyrights of others when posting to Connect Marketplace, as well as how Connect Marketplace handles copyright infringement reports. Fill out this form if you feel someone is utilizing your copyrighted work without your permission.
Please keep in mind that legislation in different nations may differ. More information about copyright law can be found on the websites of the United States Copyright Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Because Connect Marketplace cannot give legal advice, you should consult with an attorney if you have more questions concerning copyright.
Please keep in mind that only original works are eligible for copyright protection. To be considered original enough for copyright protection, a work must be created by the author and contain some degree of ingenuity.
In general, names, titles, slogans, or brief phrases are not considered unique enough to warrant copyright protection. For example, the symbol "+" is unlikely to be protected by copyright, whereas a painting full of forms and colors arranged in a unique pattern is likely to be.
Although copyright does not normally protect facts or ideas, it may protect the original words or visuals that express a fact or idea. This means that you may be able to communicate the same idea or truth as another author as long as you do not replicate that author's style of expression. A dramatist, for example, may not be able to copyright the idea of a guy waking up to repeat the same day over and over again, but the script for a play or movie conveying that idea may be.
In general, the creator of an original work (Vendor in this case) holds the copyright. For example, if you make a painting, you most certainly own the copyright to it. Similarly, if you take a photograph, you almost certainly own the copyright to that photograph. The same goes for any other video or text matterials created by Vendor and/or third party engaged by the Vendor. If you’re not sure about the extent of your copyright in an original work, you may want to contact an attorney to advise you on your rights.
Posting and setting up Content on Connect Marketpalce
You can only publish content to Connect Marketplace that does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others. The easiest strategy to ensure that your Connect Marketplace content do not infringe copyright law is to only publish content that you have created yourself. When you share someone else's content on Connect Marketplace, you may infringe on their copyright, even if you:
- Bought or downloaded the content (ex: a song from iTunes)
- Gave credit to the copyright owner
- Didn’t intend to profit from it
- Modified the work or added your own original material to it
- Found the content available on the internet
All content created by the Vendor or created at the Vendor's request as part of our standard maintenance that is part of our content creation business policy or the initial site setup is part of the Vendor's copyright and as such belongs exclusively to the Vendor.
All other merchants may only share content, banners, items, product descriptions, video content, or brochures with the Vendor's permission and their unauthorized use is a violation of copyright law, and Connect Marketplace, as well as the content owner (Vendor), will take action immediately.
If the Vendor decides to quit his collaboration with Connect Marketplace, he has the following options:
- Duplicate all material, compile it into one file, and download it after the store is closed, or pay Connect Marketplace to do it on the vendor's behalf.
- Migrate an entire instance of the site, including all necessary files, in order to rebuild it on another platform, either on your own or through a third-party.
- For a financial cost specified in our pricing list (ask for pricelist on info@connect-mart.com), request that Connect Marketplace build its instance with supporting modules and entire software architecture on a separate server.
Keep in mind that Connect Marketplace is developed on a non-standard framework concept that is incompatible with standard platforms such as Magento, Shopify, WordPress, and so on. As a result, direct migration to such platforms without the assistance of programmers is not possible.
